About Our SchoolConstruction Training Center (CTC) was started in 2000 by John Cammon. Construction Training Center is a sole proprietorship owned by John Cammon. This school is certified by the Midlands Workforce Investment Act Board (WIN). Construction Training Center is located in Blair, S.C. USA. We understand that there are many options when it comes to choosing the developing skills that will enable individuals to become employable. However, we choose Rod Busting, Carpentry and Brick Masonry. Rod bustingis a technique used to tie rebar (steel) of various sizes together to serve as reinforcement prior to pouring concrete. CarpentryA carpenter is a skilled craftsman who performs carpentry -- a wide range of woodworking that includes constructing buildings, furniture, and other objects out of wood. The work generally involves significant manual labor and work outdoors, particularly in rough carpentry. Brick Masonryis the technique by which bricks are bonded together by morter to form walls, foundations for houses, streets and the outer layer of buildings. A mason is one who builds with stone or brick. CTC's Brick Masonry, Carpentry and Rod Busting program's are 640 hour courses that can be completed in a minumum of sixteen (16) weeks. The programs are designed to teach an individual the fundamentals and develope skills pertaining to these industries. Students will learn the terminology, technique, tools, equipment and materials used in steel, wood and brick construction. In addtion, students will learn a variety of safety practices and basic blueprint readings for entry level employment in these industries. Students who successfully complete the course will have the knowledge necessary to begin a career as a Brick Mason, Carpenter or Rod Buster. |
